Hello everyone,
I have a problem with managing assets in the cloud. I want to have attribute fields that change dynamically based on another attribute field.
For example, I have a field with the purchase price of an asset. Over time, I want to calculate the current value of this asset using a formula. The asset depreciates over time and after a few years it is no longer a fixed asset. Is this possible? Has anyone ever had a similar issue? Thanks for any tips or help!
Hi @Luca Rauscher Have you considered scheduling an automation rule to run periodically to update the price? You could also trigger the rule when an object is updated (you said you want to do it based on the value in another attribute?).
Just as an FYI in future we plan to offer an automation trigger based on particular attributes being changed which will make the above easier and result in the rule firing less often.
Hi @Justin King
Thank you for your quick reply. I'll do a simple example.
I have an attribute with the purchase price and then a second one with the current value. The purchase price should then be used to calculate the current purchase price. I have of course also thought of an automation that updates the asset every day. But unfortunately, I have not found out whether I can calculate with values from different attributes. I need the values from the purchase price in my formula.
The next automation also sounds promising.
Best regards from Germany
