Automation plugin-assign value to a custom field

Hi,

I tried to assign a value from a custom field to another one when an issue is created but it did not work. Here is what I did:

Choose Action: Edit Issue Action/ Edit fields : customfield_10171=$customfields.get(10398)

I did tick the box: Allow variable expansions. I have the following error message in the logs : "you don't have the permission to assign issue" but I have the system admin rights.

I saw this note :"Text and number fields are currently the only supported custom fields". Does it mean that this rule can't work with "Select List (single choice)" or "Cascading"  field type?

Would it exist another way to do that as I need to map a custom field selected value to another custom field (with a drop down list too)
