How can I use Development Tools integration with Service Desk again?

After the JIRA 7 upgrade for our JIRA Cloud and Service Desk, I can no longer use the Development Tools integration with a Service Desk project.

I see on the migration info page that Development Tools does not works with Service Desk.

Why was this removed? Will it be added back? 

Is there any way to add Development Tools back to my Service Desk project?
