I have made an automation that based on the work-hours custom field is greater than 40 the workflow transitions from Waiting for support to Approval manager but the approver is not receiving a email notification.. Any help is appreciated.

You can put in a postfuntion to notify your approvers.
Else you can simply filter the issues that move to the specific status and ask your approvers to subscribe to the filter. That will sens a notification when the issue needs to be approved.
