Hello community.
Got a question from one of my customers and I am not 100% sure what to answer.
Customer is using:
JIRA Service Desk 3.11.0
JIRA Software 7.8.0
Customer do not pay for maintenance fro 3+ years.
They would like to purchase brand new licenses and apply them for the outdated Jiras.
The question is, will new licenses works with so outdated Jira? They got a plan to upgrade in few months, bot not now.
Thaaaanks :-)
Hi @Tomáš Vrabec ,
no worries about Jira being outdated, licenses will always apply to your product regardless of how old it is :)
For your customers, you will need to purchase new licenses :
Hope this helps,

I don't think the license is tied to a version. So a new license should still work with an older version.
You may want to contact Atlassian to see if they can purchase a new maintenance agreement on the current licenses, that would probably be less expensive than a new license and allow for upgrades.

Maintenance extension is not a way at all, it would cost much more then brand new licenses after 2+ years :-(
