Hi There
We know that multi line text field can accommodate large data( >100's of lines) but my question is, is there a character limit on field name/title?
I have a really big question to ask and answer is just a yes or no radio buttons, due to large question, it doesn't fit as field name/title. Field takes 40 words
we ask this big question(>40 words) on a customer portal and due to length, a part of question isn't displayed.
Any idea how to work this issue?
Hi @KRC
my approach when creating a risk assessment questionnaire was to make the field name succinct like ‘Risk Analysis Completed’ and then use the description to explain the full question. Also added html </hr> at end to draw a horizontal line to clearly show the description and field are related.
with several question on a form the hr makes it clear.
Also a long field name with make JQL and reporting difficult. Even using customfield ids in JQL is unreadable to most.
Service desk portal allows you to enter a custom description that is different from the underlying field. You also have the ability to add a link to help,in the request definition
Hi @Tom Lister
Thank you for sharing your approach and knowledge.
Regular field description is good for create screen, but coming to customer portal, yea, alternate field description. But need to find alternate text for questions.
