We're trying to have a notification fire when a task is <1 week away from due date. Originally we tried to have the custom field change a status when matching today's date which would trigger a workflow transition which was tied to an email alert but we'll settle for just an email out at this point.
I've added the custom date field and specified its behavior to appear when creating a task etc. However, I can't see anywhere that I can use the entry in the custom date field to interact with the project's workflow.
In fact, I can't see a way to reference that field in anything, notifications, transitions etc.
Is this even possible?
Thanks.
I don't think the cloud allows listeners so that is out. You can setup a filter to run everyday that looks at the due date and produce a report of issues that meet the criteria and have people subscribe to it.
Hi Joe,
I can't see my custom field in the list of reportable data. Is it only for system fields like due date?

Make the report criteria <1 week from due date. Not sure why your custom field isn't showing. I've used custom fields in criteria before.

@Joe Pitt , how to create this filter?? run everyday to check on due date and send a report or notification? Will this notification goes to the reporter of the ticket and assignee also ?? How this will be sent? Thanks in advance.

You need to create the filter based on the criteria, save it then subscribe to it. At least in the sever version, the subscription can be sent to multiple people. You can share it and they can subscribe to it.This has nothing to do with the reporter or assignee. I've often used it to send to management. If you have problems creating or subscribing look at the documentation for the cloud version
