Tickets are being moved consistently by other employees and when a ticket is moved to another column it needs to be assigned to a user from a custom field. There is a custom field called sales when emp1 moves the ticket from one column to another one, I would like Jira to automatically assign it to the user that is in the custom sales field. I know that this is possible, I just cannot figure out that last part. Will someone point me in the right direction? or give me the answer? Thank you!
I found the solution with smart values and the JSONview extension for Chrome. It is really simple to do with these tools and I just had to figure it out from there. There are some decent posts on how to use each one individually, but nothing all put together. I would love it if Atlassian would put together a tutorial on this that is kept up-to-date.
Hi Todd - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Can you share a screenshot of what you have so far?
Basically, you want a rule for a Transition to a particular status to cause the value of the Assignee field to be updated with the value of the Sales field. Correct?

I have the screenshot, but how do I upload it? When I click on the camera it makes a large blank space and I cannot paste in this spot.

I see the camera icon, but when I click on it to upload a photo, it creates an open white box where I believe that the image upload piece would be on the web page. I am using the latest version of chrome and win 10.

Edge works in this situation which, as a web developer in a previous part of my life, saddens me.

This is the email that gets sent. Can you share a shot of the actual rule where you are copying the Sales value into the Assignee?
