Issue Linking smarts/functionality, is there any?

Hello Community,

I am still very new to JIRA so be gentle, if this is a stupid question.

I have been doing some digging around documentation and testing, but have not been able to answer this question definitively for myself.

Outside of being able to configure and set the type of link relationship between issues, is there any functionality for executing a desired behaviour with those relationships, be it a configuration that needs to be turned on, or a Marketplace Add-on (e.g. if an issue is blocked, it can't be completed)?

Hi @Shanhan Bonham,

Welcome, I am assuming you want to prevent a blocked issue from transitioning until the blocker is Done/completed.

To achieve this you can write a script in the condition with script runner plugin or add the linked Issues condition that checks the status of the linked issue status with JIRA misc Workflow Extensions add-on. Both are available in cloud
