Hello,
we are managing our co-workers via Jira to manage their assets and many more. Every co-worker has an issue that will be created out of our HR-process, if the contract is signed.
This works fine, but now we want to create a page in the co-worker's personal space. In the automation action, I can configure the space the page should create in.
Now the question: how can I manage that the space comes from a smart value? The rule should be triggered if the assignee will be set. So I have the user. Can I use this information to configure the space?
I would really appreciate any help.
Thorsten
Hello Thorsten,
Thanks for asking this question! The Create page in Confluence action doesn't support smart values for the Space field, but we're tracking this requirement in a feature request:
AUTO-82 Improve Create Confluence Page action in A4J
(Templates, add body editor & ability to pass Jira smart values to Confluence page template, e.g. to support "Create Release Notes in Confluence" use case, ability to link Jira fields to Confluence table)
There's a workaround mentioned, which might help in your case:
Another way to create a confluence page using Jira automation is by using the Confluence REST API and sending a web request through the automation.
The following link will explain how to achieve that: Automating the creation of a Confluence page linked to a Jira ticket
Please give that a try and let me know how it goes!
