Store data for customers properties?

Julien Borrelli March 29, 2019

Hello.

Is there a way to store data for customers? The only thing that we can do so far in Jira Service Desk is to set a name. Is it possible to set informations, to reuse them later in Jira Core issues?

We tried using AtlaCRM but informations entered in the plug-in (like their webaddress) cannot then be accessed in an Issue.

Thank you.

Alright, after extensive search, so far I think Jira is actually not a tool to hold informations, like a proper Database. Solutions to store data for customers properties? :

- Use Context Custom Fields. You can create Context Scheme per Project, and use their default input to show the data for each of your customers/project. That may be a good solution if you are willing to create as many Context scheme as you have clients, and maintain it.

- With the cloud version, you cannot query an information from a database, and complete the fields of an issue later on (You can with the server version, with a tool like Elements Connect ,formerly nFeed). So instead the solution is to feed the informations when creating the issue, with an external form/database.

This post is quite old, but if you're interested, we have a simple and easy-to-use app enabling storing of customer data.

Hello Jack, thank you for your answer. Maybe I should extent my question not only to customers:

- Is it possible to store any data on Jira? I have a custom field "Services", that is a multicheckboxes. I would like those checkboxes to be already filled, depending on the reporter of a ticket. So I guess I need to store somewhere that :

this reporter =  from the Services custom field: this box, this box, and this box ticked, and this box empty

that reporter = from the Services custom field: this box ticked, and no other box ticked

etc... Is there any way to store that data somewhere?

Thank you :)
