Hi Community,
Is there a way to send out scheduled email using Post-function?
My use-case is, I want to send out scheduled email to Reporter, when a Parent issue is sitting on Done status and its Child(ren) is also sitting on Done status for 90 days.
Is there a way I can set the Condition in Post-function using "Email Issue (JMWE app)" or "Send a custom email - scriptrunner post-function" like:
Please guide if it is possible using post-function and/ or suggest how to configure the same conditions in Jira automation rule.
Thanks
If you don't mind me asking why do you want to notify that Parent and child issues are in Done Status?
Is there an action reporter needs to take when issue has been in Done status?
Based on your answer we can both think on the solution.
FYI what you are trying to achieve is doable however I am trying to better understand your case scenario.
Best,
Fadoua
Thank you for your message.
As per my customer requirement, they want to send a reminder email to Reporter after 90 days, saying that "it has been 90 days, you have not answered a survey question (custom field on Parent issue), as the Parent and its Child is already in Done status."
In that Reminder email, Reporter will click on the Parent issue key and land on Parent issue (and I am showing survey question when Parent & Child are both in Done). The value selected by Reporter will be further used for reporting purpose.
Why I want to send the schedule email using post-function is because, I am using a custom email template (scriptrunner post-function). But when I try to add the same html code in jira automation rule, it is not giving me the same layout as requested by my customer.
Is there a way we can schedule the email as per given conditions mentioned in my earlier message? or suggest how I can achieve the same in jira automation rule.

You may use the Jira email buttons or template in the jira automation.
But prior that, can you share the issue while sending mail via post functions?
