I'd like to be able to receive a notification to my own email address whenever ANYTHING new comes in. We're a desk of three, ones the boss, and the other a programmer. So I'll be handling everything that comes in, at least initially. And of course I want to get back to the requestor ASAP with meaningful information (more then just the stock "we have received your request" which does go out (and is useful).
I looked at Automatcion, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have an idea of how to get a notification sent out on the opening of any new item in the Jira Service Desk?
Thanks!
Hi Thomas,
You could create Notification scheme for Issue Created and select "Single Email Address" radio button and enter your email to receive notification when a issue is created.
Thanks

if you are the only person working the issue then you should simply have all issues assigned to you by default. Doing this, should result in you getting a notification as the Assignee. If you don't want them assigned to you then you can simply ensure you are in a group/role associated with Create notification.

Since everything will be assigned to me initially, and I will be giving them out rarely to the other two techs, I will try to figure out what steps to take to define me as the automatic assignee for any type of request that comes in. I'll let you know how this goes. Thank you for the help.

You can set yourself as the project lead and you then set the default Assignee to project lead.
Project settings > details
then just make sure that you have Create notification set for “Current Assignee”

This is a good link, but again, when I want to add my email address to the "To" field, it will not allow me to do so saying there is "no matches found" "Reporter is an option," but nothing else. Thank you.

I should have said, I tried to create the automation with "When= Issue created", IF "Issue matches = All issues" THEN Send an email.
Problem is the only options I can choose are "Reporter" and "Customers involved." I want to send an email to my own email address. I am a Jira user with the proper email address. I try to put in my address by typing, and it gives me a "no matches found" message. Any other address' do the same thing. How can I send an email to my own address? We are a small shop, and won't get too many requess, but when i do, I need to know right away.
Any help is appreciated. Sorry for not being clearer initially.
