As an admin, I want to setup automation so a comment is posted when....

As an admin, I want to setup automation so a comment is posted when a linked issue moves from one defined status to another defined status. 

Example: 

  1. Support ticket is created as "caused by" a Developer ticket. 
  2. When that Dev ticket moves to "approved", a comment is posted to the Support ticket stating "Attention required. Linked issue had a status change.".

Here is the screenshot from one of a rule from my Jira instance. It is what @John Funk described above.

Hi Laurie,

You would start with an Issue Transition trigger in Automation. 

Then you would add a Branch for Linked Issues

Select the type of link type

Then add a new action for Comment on Issue.
