Office 365 Directory Connector for Crowd (ODCC)

Hello,

 I need to use the SSO that office365 with Jira Service desk.

My  Jira installation is Self-hosted, not Jira Cloud.

Office 365 Directory Connector for Crowd does it work the same?

Hi @Pizarro Pedro

As of today ODCC uses Crowd SSO which means that your users need to authenticate once through an Atlassian application's login form (for example Jira's login form), then they can navigate to your other Atlassian applications (for example Confluence, Bitbucket etc.) without having to enter their O365 credentials again.

This is different from what is usually called "Office 365 SSO" which usually refers to integration modes where users are redirected to Office 365's login form when they try to reach an Atlassian application such as Jira.

Hello Bruno - when you say " without having to enter their O365 credentials again. " , do you mean using O365 credentials on JIRA Login Form ?

Does this mean JIRA AD configured to AZURE AD or whatever AD 0365 uses ?

That's right, thanks to Crowd SSO, users don't have to enter their O365/Azure AD credentials again. In short the user flow is:

1/ User connects to Jira. He's not authenticated yet so he's redirected to Jira's authentication form.

2/ User enter his O365/Azure AD credentials in Jira's authentication form. He's now authenticated on Jira and gets a Crowd SSO cookie.

3/ User navigates to Confluence. As he already has a Crowd SSO cookie, he's automatically authenticated on Confluence and does not have to enter his O365/Azure AD credentials again.

Regarding your last question, O365 always uses Azure AD so "O365 credentials" basically means the same thing as "Azure AD credentials".
