In service desk, I can add an automation so that a ticket is moved to a specific board when the status changes.
Can I make it so that when I close the ticket in the board, it changes the status of the ticket in service desk?

So not 100% sure I understand your question completely but basically I think you're asking 2 things:
For the first one: Wether an issue shows up on a board or not depends on the JQL filter for that board. So a particular board might be configured to only show issues where "labels = onboard". So you could setup an automation rule to add the label 'onboard' to an issue with our 'Edit issue' action.
For the second one, a rule like this should work (this may have to be a global rule if the linked issue is in another project:
