Using Jira as a defect

I am using TestRail as my repository for all the test cases etc, this tool gives great stats.  Whilst configuring TestRail to talk to Jira for my defect/issues tracking I needed to run some tests.  I raised 4 defects from TestRail and they appeared in Jira, hence my test worked.  However I need to delete the 4 test issues in Jira and I have no idea how to do this.

Does anyone know how to delete the 4 test issues in Jira and re-set the number back to the start?
