We currently have a 100 user Confluence server licence and a 100 user JIRA server licence. We use JIRA to manage the users in both.
We now want to open up our Confluence to more users, so will potentially have a 250 user Confluence licence, but we still only need 100 JIRA users. Can we still use JIRA to manage the Confluence users, even though the number of users is in excess of the JIRA licence? Or do we need to break the link and manage Confluence/JIRA separately?
Thanks in advance, Simon.
Hi @Simon Lee
I'm not sure, but as I know Atlassian, it could be that in this case you need the same number of users for Jira and Confluence.
ask Atlassian sales, they should know it ;-)
best André
Hi @André K_ . The answer from the Sales team is that users are actually managed through a User Management tool, which is independent from JIRA and Confluence, so you should be able to manage users for both systems in one place, even with different sized user licences.
