We have a business requirement to use a web embedded booking app to manage our events and ticket sales, then use Jira as a 'project' or task management tool to enable event management.
Are there any booking apps that provide integration with Jira without the use of a third party middle app?

Jira is, at it's heart, an issue tracker, designed to do project and task managment. It doesn't focus on dates a lot, because it is more of a to-do list than a calendar, but it has dates and times built-in.
I don't understand what you are looking for though, could you explain "booking" a bit more?
(Also, "booking apps that provide integration with Jira without the use of a third party middle app" is self-contradictory - it sounds like you are looking for an app that is not an app?)
Hi, thanks for the follow up. We were looking at Calendly as an option for a booking app. We're hoping to find a similar one that has native integration with Jira - ie as an administrator for the booking app I can send the booking to Jira as a Jira issue to manage the appointment. Some examples of 'manage the booking' include find a meeting room, find an expert to attend the meeting, organise catering.
Calendly would require us to also include a third party integration tool/app like tray.io
We're hoping to find a booking app with the jira creation built in.
We tried using the Jira integration with outlook - ie create a jira issue from a message, however the outcome wasn't ideal - not really able to create a lot of metadata from the outlook email to make it work as a Jira ticket.

Sorry for the delay!
I understand now, thanks for taking the time to clear up my misunderstandings!
I'm not aware of any booking applications, it's not really my field. The handful I've used in various roles have been used for things that you probably wouldn't have any need to create Jira issues for.
So there's a few things you could think of
There may be some applications that do it, but I don't know, and you'd need to ask the vendors of the booking applications.
You don't need to use a 3rd party app to create an integration. If you can code or issue triggers inside your booking application, then you could use Jira's REST API directly.
Do it in Jira 1: There are a couple of apps in the marketplace that say they do booking functions - I only tried typing in booking, but other words might find you other options. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=booking
Do it in Jira 2: I once set up a Jira project for meeting room bookings. Each meeting was an issue, we had validators to check the room didn't have a clashing booking when someone was creating a new issue, and the users automatically had somewhere to log their time during the meeting!

Thank you @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- for sharing experience with this. Could you share more details about the validators you used to check the room availability How did you get the room availability? Was that an integration or a query to Microsft room resources?
Thank you

I've never used Microsoft to try to do much, my current calendar is a combination of google, calendly, zoom meeting setups, and officely in Slack.
