You can read on all the documentation that you can scan the network and if needed you can run a Windows agent to scan the device.
But what if you don‘t have a „network“ because all of your colleagues are working from home?
And HOW can you scan all the other OSes like Linux, MacOS and iOS? All these devices (end user devices) are assets which are company owned. So I would expect to get all the agent installers for all types of OS.
RE the discovery: I need a local machine to discover all the devices in my network while I don‘t have a local network/server room or servers? Why I am using cloud services? Do I have to install a discovery server in the cloud to get all the information from my end user devices? Hm. Why is the discovery agent not communicating directly with my Jira Asset Management cloud instance?
Maybe I am missing sth. here… The „New work“ (since Covid) means:
- no offices, no server room, no servers
- remote work from around the globe (home offices)
- now, please use an asset management tool!
