Asset in JSM

Who is using Asset in JSM? I am starting to test with the Entra ID import but I am wanting to limit what is imported or where it is imported to. First off I only want to bring in users that are in a certain OU, I also want to normalize some data that is brought in. Curious who is importing users mostly right now. Thanks.

Hi @Mikel Whipple

I have used it, but its still a beta app from Atlassian and it will take only several parameters, not all.

It grabs the following, what-data-does-the-assets-microsoft-entra-id-app-import

You can't limit it on OU, for example, it will take all when making the connection.

It will take Employee ID, department and Job Title.

If you do want to have more control on what is transferred, then you would need to go fo a 3rd party app.

This app I used multiple times now and you can specify which attributes to sync and OU and schedule your import

Hey @Mikel Whipple

I used it.

first get the list of employees from your HR department.

second, create an integration between the HR system to the JSM Assets so when ever a new user is joining, it will be created in the Assets, also if someone will leave, update it in the assets.

Please explain what is your issue.

No real issues, it seems there are different ways to get your user data into Jira. Here is my use case, we are a big company, we have around 40k users. Our helpdesk could get a call from Bob Smith, well there are 15 Bob Smith's. How do we know we got the right one? It would be easier to ask Bob for his employee ID when he calls in to make him the reporter. It would also be good to have the info on Bob such as his location and department, job title.
