Automation of Assets Data Manager Cleanse and Import steps?

Jes Kampman April 1, 2025

We all know that we need to run some kid of on-premises job to load data into Data Manager in the cloud - which many of us find to be quite disappointing for cloud-based sources.

This question is related to the pipeline steps that come AFTER that.   That is, we run the Cleanse and Import steps from the Data Manager GUI via a contextual menu.  I have done this successfully and that makes sense.

What I am not sure about is that my source data loader has either a new entry or modifications to an existing record, will the Cleanse and Import steps run when this entry is added or modified?

Hi @Jes Kampman

That depends are you cleaning after import or on import.

After import, action in the tool vai the GUI, no changes are done on a new import. Actions on cleansing wil have to be done in the GUI again.

But on import data can be cleansed directly, on cleansing rules on import see: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/cleanse-your-data/
