Can we get the all attachments by using CSV Import?

Ram Raj June 15, 2025

I am trying to do CSV export of all fields from Jira Server/DC instance of Jira and will import to cloud instance of Jira but not getting attachments, so is there any specific process/procedure to get the all the attachments with CSV import?

Please provide any suggestions on this.

Regards,

Ramakrishna

Attachments cannot be migrated via CSV import. Use the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant for seamless migration, or manually download attachments from JIRA_HOME/data/attachments and re-upload them after the import. The REST API or Full Project Export/Import can also be used. JCMA is the easiest and most reliable method.

Hi @Ram Raj,

this troubleshooting article focuses specifically on importing attachments through csv into Jira cloud. The article also references to a knowledge base article and the overall procedure to run a proper csv import.

If you intend to import data once from server/DC into cloud, it might be a better option to use the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant instead.

Hope this helps!
