Dedicated MS Teams Channel in Incidents

Josiah Graves February 22, 2023

We use a dedicated incident channel in Microsoft Teams for our incident communication. Rather than create a new MS Teams meeting in each incident, is it possible to embed that existing channel in all incidents?

Hi there @Josiah Graves ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

With Atlassian ChatOps you should be able to start a new channel conversation in Microsoft Teams: Connect Microsoft Teams to your service project | Jira Service Management Cloud | Atlassian Support

Alternatively, you can start a channel conversation with a chosen Microsoft Teams channel within an incident. This works with the Microsoft 365 for Jira app: Microsoft Teams: Start a conversation in Jira (yasoon.com) Combined with Jira automation you can send an automated Microsoft Teams channel message when a new incident occurs.

I work for yasoon, the company developing Microsoft 365 for Jira, so I am a fan of the app and tend to recommend it. In case you are interested to set up an automation for this use case, feel free to book a meeting here: Meet Microsoft 365 for Jira (office365.com)

Regards

Britta
