Epics filtering on Sprint Backlog board

Wojciech Cora September 2, 2021

Hi, does anybody know if we could filter Epics on Sprint`s Backlog board? (green frame). In my Jira configuration I can only filter tasks (filter by team). It could be very efficient if I could filter epics by teams.

thanks

Are you asking if you can filter your backlog issues by epic? If so simply click on the desired Epic in the Epic panel. All issues not associated with the selected epic will disappear.

Hi, Jack, thanks for prompt answer! No, I want to do sth. else.

Imagine that you want to know how many epics each team commited to deliver.

to visualize this it would be nice to see that:

Team A has 5 epics,

Team B has 7 epics,

Team C has 3 epics.

I have filters that work for tasks but does not affect epics column (in green rectangle).

Is there some other way to filter epics by team assigned to this epics?

thank

OK I see now. The only way I could see to make this happen would be to use automation to inherit the epic field of interest ‘team ownership’ into each of the issue within that epic. Then you could have a quick filter based on that field. Of course this assumes you have a custom field ‘team ownership’.
