Epics are not showing in the list view of the backlog.
I'm not talking about the epic panel, I'm hoping to see the epic in the actual list of tickets.

Epics will only show in the Epic panel of a scrum board backlog view.
If you need to see Epics in a list of ticket backlog view, I would create a kanban board with the backlog enabled.
