How come I have a searchable portal before the portal?

I've been setting up the service desk with our "digital requests" project and we want internal users to submit requests and questions through here. However I'm a little confused as how I've got the below portal that has a search bar where they can access issues and search.

Then the second page is also shown when issues are clicked into, which shows all the requests available but no search bar. Users have found this confusing as they aren't sure which to be using? I think they both have the same information? But I'm a bit confused as to how they're duplicated as we only have one portal?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

Hi @Rach O'Neill

It's how Jira Service Management is formatted - effectively you have....

  • The Portal - with all potential "sub-portals" (i.e JSM Projects), KB Articles, etc
    • Clicking into one of the sub-portals then provides the request types available for that JSM Project

You don't need to use the main portal page though - you could just send users a direct link to a sub-portal page. To get one JSM Project's Portal URL...

  1. On your JSM Project, go to Project Settings > Portal Settings
  2. Copy the Portal URL
