How do you hide request types from the portal but still allow user to create request?

We have a few request types that should only be used by a few people. If we put it in the portal, others will definitely try to use it so we hid it, assuming we could send the URL to those people directly but I see now, that does not work. So how do we either get it to work or show specific request types to only certain people? This is for JSM Cloud

As soon as I posted this, I found a newer article that mentions it was just recently added as a feature, so disregard!
