How to assign multiple sprints to an epic

I see some of my epics have multiple sprints in the sprint field. But I can't see to manually add two sprints. Can someone explain to me how this logic works and how the epic attached got two sprints attached even though I can't manually replicate it?

By design, you can only have an issue in one active sprint. The field will carry the history of all closed sprints the issue had been filled in. So you will always see one active sprint but multiple closed ones. Sprint report will help you understand that, and so does the issue history.
