How to check on the number of Service Desk Agents in a single JSM Project?

Craig Duffy August 15, 2025

We have a LOT of users, and a limited number of JSM licenses. We have restricted each JSM project to only have a maximum of 5 Service Desk Agents to keep the license count down.

How can I check on the number of ACTUAL Service Desk Agents in a single project?

The admins for the project may have a lot of users assigned as Service Desk Agents in the project (in some cases over 100), however they do not all have licenses for JSM. But I dont see how I can run a report to confirm how many actual, licensed Service Desk Agents are in a single project.

For example: a Jira Project Lead assigns 30 people as Service Desk Agents. As a Jira admin, Id like to see -out of those 30 assigned Service Desk Agents- how many actually have a license.
Note: we are on Data Center.

thank you

Hi @Craig Duffy ,

Yeah... You probably won't be able to get this without some cross-referencing.
Meaning, you would need to:

  1. Identify all users assigned as agents within each project
  2. Check which of these users has JSM license/application access

You could probably somehow automate this with some local scripts > like export both and cross-reference automatically to get final report, but I haven't constructed anything like this myself yet 😕

Potentially, someone else has found a solution/workaround that can be used in this scenario. It would be nice to see that.

Cheers,
Tobi
