Is it possible to have include that you need to provide a comment / reason for transitioning a story in a certain status back to a previous one?
For context, we have an integration with Solution Manager (Jira is the master) and for some (SAP) developments, we need to test them in our Transition environment due to Master data reasons. If the test turns out bad and changes need to be made, we need to be able to roll back the story to the status "In Development". Due to Audit reasons, we need to make sure a reason is provided as to why the change was rolled back since it was already put in the transition environment.
Is it possible to have a condition that if the story is in status "IN TRA" and is to be transitioned back to "in Development", a comment needs to be added? - Like for example, when you flag a story and can write a comment about why you are flagging it.

Welcome to the community.
On the transition you can use a screen or you can set a validator, use the "Field Required" validator and specify the comment field.
If the transition is excecuted and no comment is added the transition will fail.

Welcome to the community!
This should be doable within the transition between the two statuses in the workflow. In my example workflow below we do have a comment required validator but I believe this is from a marketplace app (Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE)) and may not be available out of the box, but without the app I think this can also be accomplished with a screen and a custom field and then a field required validator to capture the transition reason.
