Is it possible to purchase a few 3-4 user licenses for Jira Premium version to enable asset management while continuing to use our existing standard Jira version for other purposes such as software development and ITSM for software development issues? We are currently using Jira Service Management (ITSM) in the standard version and are looking to expand its usage for infrastructure and asset management. Thank you for any insights or guidance on this matter.
Hey @tehreem_warsi ,
While you can choose different plans (Free/Standard/Premium) for each product on the instance separate, you cannot choose the same product twice on a different plan.
So, Yes you can get JSM premium next to JSW standard but No, you cannot get JSM Premium for x users , JSM Standard for other users on the same instance.
Thank you @Dirk Ronsmans for your clarification.
Considering that we are currently using JIRA Software Management in the standard version, should we acquire premium licenses for Jira Service Management (JSM) for asset management purposes? Can you please confirm whether asset management is not included in the standard JSM version?

That's correct, Assets is only "unlocked" when you have Jira Service Management Premium not Standard.
Once active tho the users with only a Jira Software license will be able to use the existing Assets in their issues. Interacting with the Assets schema itself (create/update) will only be possible for users with a JSM license
