I'm trying to set up an auto-close rule in JSM Alerts and want to exclude alerts that contain a specific text string. I tried using the string in quotes and also without quotes, but neither approach worked.
Has anyone successfully excluded alerts based on specific text content? What’s the correct syntax or method to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Final answer from Atlassian:
Unfortunately, the integration does not function as an automation process. It can either perform one action or the other, but not both at the same time. Here’s what occurs: it receives the incoming request from the integration, identifies the "create" action, and simply executes it. It does not verify any other settings. The second action would only occur if another incoming request is received that corresponds to "close."
Fortunately, you can setup an Automation rule to manage these situations. For instance, you might use this pathing:
Another way I found that works to Auto-Close Alerts is from Operations > Overview > Policies > Notification policies
Teams can manage these auto-close rules themselves which helps to reduce the admin overhead.
Hi @Sara Beyer
I'm still a bit new to JSM Operations/Alerts but I think the string does not need quotes. From what I've seen it seems if there are quotes it will be looking for the text in quotes in your subject / message
