Hi all,
Would really appreciate any advice or thoughts on this.
I am currently creating a form that requires two insight (Asset) custom fields. They have been configured in such a way that the first field drives the relevant options for the next field. However, I want to be able to select multiple option in the first field and for that to drive further options to appear. I am aware you can not use the same insight field multiple times on a JSM form (unless there is a way I am not aware of).
Is there any way to do this in the edit context and details section in the configuration? Both fields have been set to store multiple values but I don't think this works as ideally as I'd like.
Hi @Francesca Hart , thanks for your question.
Please can you explain what you would like to achieve with this configuration? You could have the Access custom fields set up in such a way to allow for a multiple selection, but I am not clear then what you would like to do with this information when you have it.
Please can you expand a bit on what you want to do or give an example?
Cheers
Hi @Valerie Knapp
Thanks for responding.
So yes I have configured both of my custom field to be store multiple objects.
I would like to be able to click multiple options in one custom to then be able to drive the information in the next custom field which I also want to have the option of being able to select multiple options.
For example, lets say
Custom field 1 - is a insight asset custom field (which links to a list of animals in the asset database).
Custom field 2 - Is an insight asset field based on characteristics of the listed animals above and also stored in the database.
I click lion & cat from custom field 1.
In the 2nd custom field, I want to then see the list of characteristics of both lions & cats but be able to select as many characteristics as I want to.
I want both custom field to be multi select but also that when I select from the 1st custom field this then drives the information that see in the 2nd custom field.
Excuse the example, I know you can not use the same custom field multiple times in the form as once it's used that's it. I was wondering if there was any way to do this in the configuration?

Hi @Francesca Hart , thanks for your reply.
Have you tried out the forms at all in JSM? I was checking some of the templates and they have some worked examples for how to implement things like conditions based on the different responses provided to questions.
Otherwise, I had a customer that wanted to set up custom fields that had relationships between them, so if you answered Yes to this, you would be asked a follow up question, but I am not sure this would work well with Assets.
This app is pretty powerful in terms of creating custom forms, just not sure it is what you need-
Extension for Jira Service Management | Atlassian Marketplace
I hope this helps.

Hi @Valerie Knapp
Yeah these templates work great in the scenario of showing/hiding based on the response etc. In agreement not sure it would work well with assets.
Really appreciate your help and taking the time to do so.
Thanks
Fran
