Hello all!
Under one of our Projects in JSM the team wanted some 'Email groups' added so that when they are added to 'Request Participants' whoever is in the group email would get a notification. Example below -
I have added the email groups under the Project > People and Access as a Service Desk Customer role.
Then the above email groups are selected as a request participant, they are not receiving any notifications on this?
Any tips or ideas on how I can enable this to work?
Thanks for all your help!
Welcome to the community.
What are those groups in the email application used, a distribution list or just a group?
Request participants will use the email address linked to the groups in the email application.
The email application has to handle the incoming email on the address used in the "email group"!
Hello @Marc - Devoteam
Thanks for the reply.
They are just an email account, which is multiple users are delegated too.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Jira sents the email to that address that's all.
If the delegated users need to see this information this is not JIra, this is the mail server end.
So this needs to be configured on the mail server not Jira. Jira doesn't even know the delegates of that mail address, it only know the mail address.
To have this work the mail address should be a distribution list on the mail server side (if my memory is correct from my systems management days)

To enable "Email groups" to automatically notify all members when added as request participants in Jira Service Management (JSM), you can utilize the "Request Participants" feature and configure notifications appropriately.
