At my company, I've been tasked with handling the migration of Opsgenie to JSM.
Atlassian claims feature parity between Opsgenie and JSM, but I understand there are important differences and caveats. I've reviewed the documentation, but I'd like to perform a test migration to ensure JSM can satisfy all our requirements before fully committing. However, if I initiate a migration, we only have 120 days before Opsgenie is automatically shut down, forcing us to either stick with JSM or find an alternative product within that period.
So, my question is: Can the 120 day window be extended to allow us sufficient time to configure and evaluate JSM (or alternate product) before Opsgenie is automatically deactivated?
@Vincent -
Welcome to the community. As regarding to the extension, you will need to reach out Atlassian Support directly (https://support.atlassian.com) or your Atlassian account contact.
Do note that you have up to April 5, 2027 is the deadline before all data are removed for Opsgenie -
"Atlassian announced Opsgenie will no longer be available for purchase, effective June 4th, 2025. Opsgenie customers will be able to continue to use the product, without interruption, until April 5th, 2027 when Opsgenie will be shut down. Opsgenie customers have two years to plan for and complete their migration to either Jira Service Management or Compass."

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response. We are currently on free tier of Opsgenie and JSM while we test the migration and feature parity. Once we have made our assessment and if we are happy with JSM, we will onboard more agents and upgrade to JSM standard or premium.
So until we upgrade to a paid JSM plan, we are unable to raise support tickets for either of these products directly to definitively know whether we can extend the 120 day window, even though we are already on Jira Premium.
