JIRA Task Workflow with Approvals

Greetings all,

I'm new to JIRA and trying to understand which issue type works best for my use.

Overall, a task issue type seems approperiate, however, I would like to add approval steps in the workflow. Unfortunately, I havent had any luck on adding these steps since I do not get the prompt to setup the approval.

I'm sure its a basic question, however, can someone verify if approval steps can be added to the task workflow? If so, what should I check?

I was able to setup the approval steps in a request type issue without any problem.

If you're comfortable with solutions from the Marketplace, I can suggest Business Process Manager developed by my team.

You can add approval steps to your workflow that allows set up approval by a single person or group of users to approve requests in sequential order.
