Hi,
We would like to have the Portal search pull up any available article when searching by key words. (this is already working)
However, we would like to have a different type of article show when someone is filling in the Summary of a ticket.
Is there a way to distinguish which articles show for the Portal search vs the Summary?

You can limit which knowledge articles show per Request Type, using labels.
Under Project Settings > Knowledge base you can control article suggestions based on request form and limit what shows based on labels
