I have a rule that will create a new issue in another project when a custom field is updated. The rule works as expected but only populates the fields I set in the automation rule.
Rather than set a single summary for all new issues created through this method, each new issue needs a unique summary that the agent would enter. For this, I need the create issue screen to display when the automation is run. Is it possible to have the automation rule trigger a create issue screen?
No, this is not possible.
What you can do is create a screen between the 2 status transition.
Add different custom fields on this screen where you consume the values of Summary, description, etc.
Configure automation with the trigger:
Issue transitioned >
ACTION > Create issue
In summary, click on the 3 dots and point the field value consumption to the defined custom field, also change the trigger to copy the "Trigger issue".
Only then will you be able to manipulate this automation with a creation screen between transitions.
Can this be added as a functionality? I believe lot of us will require a pop-up screen when an issue is created by automation so that people can enter description and comments.
