Hi, I'm currently working on Jira cloud Software (Not service Desk). We're in the process of automating new project creation via users creating an issue.
One problem we're running into is with the mandatory Summary field. It's not really relevant in the issue type/creation we're using.
Ideally we'd like to set a default value for the summary and hide this from the specific issue however I cannot see an option to do this. This works fine for custom fields however not default (summary).
From searching it seems it's down to using Jira cloud which is stopping this. Any thoughts/suggestions? Feel free to ask if you need more info.

Hi @Dave Mathijs,
Thanks for the speedy reply. Unfortunately we do not use Service Desk so do not use Requests (we instead created an issue type for this). We are currently using Jira Cloud Software & Confluence.

Hi, I thought so too, but I saw the question was asked in the Jira Service Management group with relevant tags.
In Jira Software, this is not possible out-of-the-box unless you would create a template with a fix summary, either via a Manual Automation rule or a third-party app.
