Is there a way to send notifications to customers in Jira SD Cloud when ticket has been assigned?

I have seen that this is currently not a direct functionality and has already been raised for a feature request suggesting for its implementation.

Is there a workaround, that would not require any plugins/add-ons, within Automation that would somehow mimic the scenario of notifying non-licensed customers when their tickets are assigned?

I've tried enabling an automation that when "Ticket is created", then "Assignee" field is not empty, it would send an e-mail to the reporter and customers involved — it doesn't work.

Hi Jillian, I suggest you use Project Automation for this. Here is a working example...

Hi @Jack Brickey thank you for this. But can you direct me on how to land on this setting? Is this available in Cloud? As I find myself quite unfamiliar with the page. Thanks!

go to project > project settings > Project automation (toward bottom of settings in sidebar) NOT "Automation" (which is at the top).

Got it. Thank you very much, @Jack Brickey I think I have it figured out now.
