Hi Community,
I'm experiencing an issue with the Assets Reports dashboard in Jira Service Management (Cloud) and hoping someone can help.
Problem: In the "Attribute analysis" report, I cannot select any attribute value for the "Attribute values over time" chart. The dropdown for "Select attribute (required)" remains empty/unselectable, showing "No data to show" in the chart area, no matter which object types and attributes I choose in the main filter.
What I've tried:
Expected behavior: According to the documentation, Select and Text attributes should be available in the "Attribute values over time" dropdown. Integer, Date, and DateTime attributes are not supported, which I understand.
Questions:
Unfortunately the documentation is spartanic: https://support.atlassian.com/assets/docs/how-to-use-the-assets-dashboard/
Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Stephan
This chart does require historical data to function. If the selected attributes haven’t changed over time, the dropdown will remain empty and show “No data to show.”
Here’s a quick checklist to help troubleshoot:
Requirements for “Attribute values over time”:
Only Text and Select attribute types are supported (you’ve confirmed this, great).
The selected attribute must have change history recorded over time.
The objects you’re filtering on must have at least one historical change to the selected attribute for it to appear in the chart.
Modify one of your test object’s attributes manually and wait a few minutes.
Refresh the report and check if that attribute now becomes selectable.
Ensure object schema history tracking is enabled (should be on by default, but worth verifying).
If you’re setting this up for the first time or testing with newly created objects, it’s common for the chart to appear empty until attribute changes are logged.
