I just wanted to check how other organizations without the pipeline features are recording standard changes. We are migrating away from ServiceNow, and all our standard changes are stored in the tool's database. We use that to version control, track changes, and how many times it is deployed.
I can't see the option to do this in Jira. I'm a beginner! Ideally, I would like the engineers to just select a standard change from a dropdown or catalog, as the change would be the same each time with the exception of the asset it is being performed on, so there is no need to edit the form each time. I saw the demo, which has a tick box, and they store the SOP for the standard change elsewhere, but ideally, I would prefer it was in the record itself.
You could create what you are looking for in JSM assets and Automation.
You would create a schema of the standard questions and the responses, and when a change is selected, from a drop down, an automation rule would assign the custom fields to the values that are in your asset schema.
So the Standard change contains the custom fields that you want, and the developers do not need to complete the same form over and over?
Am I on the right track?
Cheers

Weirdly this is what I have started to do and it looks good because you can see every ticket linked to the asset (standard change). I'm struggling with the automation, to edit the issue from the asset record.

Have you sorted the automation or would you like to screen shot it and I can see if I can assist?

Yes all sorted thank you. I just need to make it lookup the key as well as point it to the table.
