Sending an email notification to a custom multi-user field based off a custom date field

On an issue, how do I set up an automatic email reminder that is sent out to a custom multi-select user field, when a custom due date is approaching". In this case I would need an email reminder sent out to the CDE Review Team as the dates get closer/within a timeframe of the Contract Due Date. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
