📣 Board and calendar views now available in queues

Hello Atlassian Community! 👋

We’re excited to introduce a new feature that enhances how you manage your work in Jira Service Management. We know that flexibility is key when it comes to planning, triaging, and managing work items, so we're rolling out the ability to add board and calendar views to any and all of the queues in your service project(s).

What's new?

With this update your team can track and manage work in a way that suits them best, with the ability to view the work items in queues in three different ways:

  • as a list – the detailed list view that already exists in queues.

  • as a board – view your work as cards and drag them through a workflow.

  • or as a calendar – a time-based view that allows you to schedule and see when work is due.

Get started with board and calendar views in queues

Project or Jira admins can add views to a project’s queues by following these steps:

  1. Go to a service project, then select Queues.

  2. Select a queue to which you’d like to add a view, then under the name of the queue select the plus icon (➕) next to the List view tab.

  3. Select Board or Calendar, then select Add to navigation.

  4. On hover, select More actions (...) next to the name of each view to:

    1. rename the view

    2. change the position of the view in the tab order (you can also select and drag the tab to the desired position)

    3. delete the view (you can add the view again at any time. Note the list view can't be removed.)

  5. Once added, use the tabs to switch between the list, board, and calendar views.

To configure your queue and any of its views, select More actions (...) at the top right of the screen then select Edit queue.

We need your feedback

Have you tried adding and using the new views in your queues? How has it impacted your team’s workflow and efficiency? Are there additional features you'd like to see? Your feedback is invaluable in shaping future enhancements, so please leave us a comment below.

Thanks for being a part of our community and helping us make Jira Service Management even better!

Best,

This sounds really good.

Do we have any idea when it's expected to roll out?

Any plans about giving this its own individual permission?
I could totally see large scale JSM Projects where you would want team managers to make and manage their own boards of whatnot for their queues, but you would still want them to NOT be project admins.
In fact, we have such projects and would benefit greatly from a permission like that.

Am I right in understanding that it will be possible to have multiple views, and with that multiple boards, pr. queue?

Do you plan to add Set as default option for Board and Calendar?

Hi Megha,

Looks like a cool feature BUT all it's going to do is add even more items on the left navigation panel making it impossibly long.  It becomes a mess trying to even locate these boards, lists withing queues when god forbid you have several JSM projects open at once.

What we really, really need is for JSM projects to have their own horizontal panel and options like Jira business and Jira software projects do.  I can't stress this enough how unusable JSM has become under the new navigation.

If you had that then you'd have more room to spread out these features and have them easily located.  Not only that you can give the JSM project a background color so now we can differentiate between JSM projects.

Right now....all I have is a sea of white with way too much scrolling on the left panel.

Thanks..

Susan
