Hello Community! 👋
We’re thrilled to announce the next evolution of our Okta integration: two powerful new automation actions – Add user to a group and Suspend user are now available in Automation! Now it’s even easier to manage the user lifecycle directly from Jira.
To configure Okta actions, Premium and Enterprise Jira Service Management Cloud customers will first need to create a connection with Okta as explained in the documentation below.
Read more about how to use these actions and connect your automation rule to Okta.
Expert tip: to get the most out of this new Okta integration, we recommend first fetching User ID
{{okta.user.id}}
using Retrieve user details from Okta action which is required for these two new actions.
This action lets you automatically add users to an Okta group as part of your business processes. Whether you’re onboarding a new employee, transitioning a user to a new department, or granting temporary project access, you can now automate group assignments without leaving Jira.
Need to quickly suspend a user’s access due to offboarding, leave of absence, or security concerns? The new Suspend user in Okta action allows you to automate this critical security step directly from Jira Automation.
As our team continues to work fast to add more capabilities relating to the Okta integration, we are keen to hear your thoughts on:
How you’re using new automation actions – comment below to let us know how they’ve helped to automate your important business processes and tasks, or if you have any questions.
