Hello Team,

I am adding a custom field and hidding it from the portal.

But  when I do this, It is asking for preset value. When I am giving none it is asking for give any value. If I save this with none value then after ticket creation in portal the custom field is not visible inside the project.

Can we achieve this with out giving any preset value ?

If the system won't let you create the issue without providing a value for that custom field then you must have it ser as mandatory in your field schema configuration. Check that.

It can be a bit counterintuitive but if a field is mandatory it is mandatory from the very begining (issue creation), not just whenever that field pops up in any screen.

If you want to be sure people dont forget to input a value for a particular field in a particular moment in time you could resort to custom transition screens where the field is well visible and with the appropriate condition added to the transition itself.

I hope it helps.

Hello,

If I understand your question correctly, this is the normal behavior. When you don't set the value of a customfield, it is not visible on the view screen. But if you added it to your edit screen of your project, you can see it and change it on there.
