Active Directory Sync Error logs location

Hi lads,

I'm getting an error when preforming sync of active directory connection.

The message says to check the logs but doesn't specify where the logs are stored or which log file.

I assume its the logs in Atlassian/Jira/logs
But there are a few different log files in there and I can't find any LDAP errors in any of them. 

Strange issue as the test connection for the LDAP is successful and new users seem to be syncing but they can't login which leads me to believe that passwords are not syncing or something.

If someone can point me to the right log file and maybe offer any ideas with the issue that would be great.

Hi all,

I removed the AD configuration and readded it and that seemed to solve the problem.
No idea why but happy it worked.

Welcome to the community!

  1. First mark logs for easier troubleshooting
  2. The logs that you need to review are:
    1. JIRA_INSTALL/logs/catalina.out
    2. JIRA_HOME/log/atlassian-jira.log

Can you retry and upload the error?

Thanks for that.
I can't find the catalina.out log, only catalina.log which doesn't seem to contain anything relevant but I could be wrong.

Hi Sam,
