Set a user to a custom field using smart values

venkateshprasad September 9, 2021

Hi,

Can someone help me please ?

I have a Multi User Picker custom field called 'Approvers'. This is a JSD default custom field that gets installed along with JSD.

Now, I am trying to build a automation rule in Automations for Jira within a JSD project, where I say that while an issue is created by a SD customer in the customer portal, and if the filed 'XX' has the value 'abcd' and field 'YY' has the value 'efgh', then go to the 'Approvers' field and set all the users who are part of a group called 'Group1' to this field.

I tried everything I know, and it does not work. Any idea how I can achieve this please ?

Hello @venkateshprasad

We have implemented a similar use case where we are setting the approvers to a particular group.

We are triggering the rule on issue transition, check for the values of a custom field (Department) and set the approver to a Group accordingly.

This can be customised as per the use case. Also, when a group is set as an approver, all the users who are a part of the group are notified.

Please find below the screenshot of the implementation.

Kindly accept the answer if this helps in resolving the concern.
